Chapter 13 Bankruptcy

A Chapter 13 Bankruptcy allows debtors to become current on payments and stop foreclosures, repossessions and wage garnishments while getting the relief needed from other debts.

You must earn wages or have some source of regular income and you must agree to pay part of your income to your creditors.  The court must approve your repayment plan and your budget.

Debts can be “reorganized” in to payment plans over a three-to-five-year period.  If you make timely payments for the period, any remaining unsecured debts are discharged and the case is closed.
